Dawat-e-Islami Pakistan (DIP) has claimed that more than 3,000 volunteers are serving in quake hit areas and they had taken out at least 700 bodies from the debris and buried them properly.

In a press release issued here on Wednesday, Dawat-e-Islami Pakistan (DIP) announced that it would construct 1,200 houses in the earthquake-hit areas of Azad Kashmir.

It said that DIP has so far collected relief goods worth Rs 10 million, including tents, food item, medicines and water which have already been dispatched and a fifth consignment of relief goods would be dispatched shortly.

He said the volunteers of DIP are not only sending the relief goods but also distributing the goods among the affected families in the quake-hit areas. He said that more than 600 trucks of relief goods have been sent to DIP office in Islamabad for onward transportation. Furthermore, he said tent villages have already been set up in Islamabad. He added that food items and tents are still required and urged the citizens to donate their goods at the only camps of DIP.
